Lactation support

Home Visits

  • I encourage all parents planning to breastfeed/chestfeed for the first time or who have had challenges with previous feeding journeys to make an appointment during pregnancy.

    This way we can come up with an individualized plan, do an exam and help you learn some hands on tools so you are ready for any challenges in the first days after your arrival.

    This also means we have a chance to meet and make sure we are a good fit to work together and we won’t be meeting for the first time when you are sleep deprived and struggling in the first days after giving birth.

    Cost for private pay or superbill clients: $325

    (Cost includes travel fee)

  • Your baby has been born and you need support or reassurance. Initial lactation appointments are my most comprehensive appointment. Depending on your situation we will prioritize the most important for you and your baby to get started making improvements right away. We may do a full health history, trouble shooting latch and positioning, weighing your baby, doing a weighted feeding to see how much your baby is getting, oral exam of your baby, breast/chest exam and we may do a pump flange fitting.

    At the end of this appointment you are given a comprehensive care plan with links, images or videos to help remind you of everything we talked about and the plan that works for you until our next appointment together. If you ever feel like a care plan is not manageable please let me know right away and we can adjust.

    Duration: 90 minutes (I do find we tend to run over time more often during this appointment when my schedule allows)

  • These appointments help to fine tune your plan as things change. Small babies change a lot each day and dramatically each week. We may also repeat assessments from the initial appointments or do pieces we couldn’t get to the first day. Parenting is all about trying things and seeing what works for you and your baby. Breastfeeding/chestfeeding is no different.

    Cost for private pay or superbill clients: $300

    (Cost includes travel fee)

Office Visits

  • While pump flange fittings are sometimes a part of my initial or follow up appointments when needed for the situation.

    If all you need is to get fitted for the right size pump flange, this is the appointment for you. Bring your pump as long as it’s a spectra or medela or compatible (if you don’t have one of these pumps please let me know ahead of time).

    We will sit and try a bunch of sizes and settings and other techniques to optimize the time you spend pumping. Learn more about pump flange fittings.

    Eligible to be billed to all insurance I take.

    Duration: 30 minutes

    Cost for private pay or superbill clients: $75

  • These 45 minute long appointments are fully covered by wildflower and TLN clients.

    Get answers to all your many infant feeding and care questions, whether prenatally or after your baby has arrived. You receive the same care as my other visits just broken down into smaller increments which has many advantages for tiny babies and tired parents.

Virtual Visits

Postpartum doula & lactation support services package

Lactation support services package

Good lactation support usually requires more than one visit.

1 Initial lactation visits (home visit)

2 Follow up lactation visits (home visit)

$700

(Service area for this package is the same as for the lactation network and wildflower clients, 15 minutes from Berkeley)

Postpartum doula support

I provide postpartum doula support during the days, 4 or 5 hour session. I will be your extra set of hands, I am happy to help where you are needed.

  • Newborn care education

  • Support on becoming parents

  • Pet care

  • Older kid care

  • Light cleaning

  • Infant care

  • Infant feeding support

Postpartum support can be booked ahead of the birth to reserve a space in my schedule or if your baby is already here can be booked as needed. My doula clients start with a phone call to see if we are a good fit to work together.

For the Lactation Network and Wildflower clients, as well as those purchasing the Lactation Support Services Package, there is a $100 travel fee if you live more than 15 minutes from Berkeley.
